2. Write a letter to your friend about an interesting book you have read recently. Tell your friend why you found it interesting
Answer:
My dear Rahul,
Place….
Date…….
Your kind letter go to
my hand two days back. At present I a putting on well with my studies and other
duties. While talking of studies, I fell tempted to tell you about a book.which
is the famous science-fiction entitled "Twenty Thousand Leagues .Under The
Sea" by Jules Verne. I found the book so interesting that finished reading
it at a stretch for three days.
The book describes the
imaginery voyages of a submarine across the oceans and seas in all parts of the
world. The interesting thing is that the submarine was not yet invented when
the book was written. The author presents a vivid description of the exterior
and the interior of a submarine created in his imagination. I could learn a lot
about.
Geographical location of lands and
seas and acquatic life of the different regions of the world. But it is not a
book of Geography or Oceanography. The writer gives us a beautiful story with.
a stronghuman appeal. It is a wonderful book to be remembered for long. 1 hope,
you will also go through the book as soon as possible.
This much for now. Please write to me again. My love to you and regards to your
parents.
Lovingly yours,
Q.3.
Write a letter to your brother /sister describing your visit to the zoo.
Answer
My dear Bibita,
I write these few lines to you only to share my exciting experience of visiting
the Guwahati State Zoo last Sunday. Since you have not yet visited any zoo. I
thought my account may be interesting to
you.Iwent to the zoo as Japarigog with two of my friends. My friends Rahul took a camera with him. We got ready in the morning and left him about 9 O'clock. Japarigog is about 6 kms. from our hostel. We took a city bus and arrived there at about ten.We bought tickets at the counter and went in. We saw all the animals and birds etc. of the zo0 with great pleasure. The animals like deer, tigers, rhinoceros,
giraffee, zebra etc.
gave me much. The zebras were very beautiful to look at. It seemed as if they were
putting on shirts of striped cloth, I was wonderstruck by the long neck of the
giraffee. The various types of birds were hopping and dancing in their cages. I
saw a crocodile for the first time in my life.
It was floating in a
small ditch. Two tigers were sleeping in an iron cage. Near them were the cages
of the lions. The tigers and the lions made me afraid. On that day I rode on
elephant back for the first time in my life. The riding pleased me much.
Thus I enjoyed the day
at the zoo. I returned home at 4 p.m.carrying with me a bundle of pleasure and
satisfaction.I hope, you would also like to visit the zoo someday. Please tell
mother I am fine. With love and good wishes to you.

Q.4.Write
a letter to the Editor of a local newspaper against irregular supply of water
in your place/locality.
Answer:
To,
The Editor, The Assam Tribune,
Dhubri-781002
Sir,
Through, the columns of
your esteemed Daily I wish to draw the urgent attention of the Guwahati
Municipal Corporation Officials to the grossly inadequate and irregular water
supply to the tax-payers of Ward No. 20 in the city. It is regretable that
water-pipes carry water barely for half an hour in the moming and pipes go dry
for the rest of the day. Sometimes, there is no water at all for two or three
days at a stretch. The plight of the Citizens can be easily understood.
People have been compelled to
buy water with hard cash from private sources; but everybody cannot afford it
What is the use of having a system that does not work?
I, therefore, urge upon the
corporation eithter to supply water adequately and regularly or to abolish it
altogether.Yours etc.
Bappi,
Ward No.30.
